USSR 1970 – Sheet featuring the Soviet emblem and architectural motif mint (Mi. 3808)
A mint stamp sheet issued by the Soviet Postal Service in 1970, containing 20 stamps arranged in a 5×4 grid. Each stamp is red and features the emblem of the USSR with the hammer and sickle. In the central part of the stamp is the inscription: “50 лет Марийской АССР”, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
The lower part of the stamp features an illustration of a notable building from Yoshkar-Ola, the capital of the Mari ASSR. At the bottom of each stamp is also the inscription “ПОЧТА СССР” (Post of the USSR).
This issue combines propaganda, architecture, and state symbolism, making it a valuable item for collectors of historical and Soviet-themed philately.
