USSR 1955 Polonika 4v mint Michel 1752-55
USSR 1955 – The Polonika set (Mi. 1752–1755) consists of four mint postage stamps issued by the Soviet Post Office, commemorating figures and places associated with Polish history. This issue is of a cultural and historical nature and is valued by thematic collectors – the so-called Polonika.
The set includes:
- Alexander Pushkin and Adam Mickiewicz – a stamp with portraits of two outstanding figures of literature.
- Monument in Warsaw – a stamp with a face value of 40 kopecks.
- Jan Matejko's painting “Nicolaus Copernicus” (1873) – a stamp with a face value of 1 ruble, depicting the great astronomer in a painterly style.
- A building with flags and an inscription in Russian – a stamp with a face value of 1 ruble.
These stamps are clean, in very good condition, and are an interesting example of Soviet philately with references to Polish culture and science.
