USSR 1956 – Sports Set (Mi. 1849–1862) is a collection of 14 clean stamps dedicated to various sports disciplines, issued in the context of the Spartakiada of the USSR Nations – a major sporting event organized in the Soviet Union as an alternative to the Olympic Games.
Each stamp depicts a different discipline, showing the dynamics and spirit of sports competition in a style characteristic of Soviet graphics of the 1950s.
