USSR 1956 I. Michurin botanist 3v mint Michel 1836-38
USSR 1956 – A set of stamps dedicated to Ivan Vladimirovich Michurin (Mi. 1836–1838) consists of three clean stamps issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian botanist and plant breeder. This issue commemorates his contribution to the development of natural sciences and agriculture in the Soviet Union.
The set includes:
- 60 kopecks – a scene from a garden, depicting Michurin surrounded by children, symbolizing education and the development of agriculture.
- 25 kopecks – a portrait of Michurin with flowering plants in the background.
- 1 ruble – a similar portrait with plants, but in a more decorative form and with a higher denomination.
