Banknote of Poland 2018 - 100th Anniversary of Regaining Independence original issued by the National Bank of Poland
The collector's banknote “Independence” issued by the National Bank of Poland on the occasion of the centenary of Poland's regaining independence (1918-2018).
The obverse of the banknote features a portrait of Jozef Pilsudski according to a photo from the collection of the National Digital Archive, one of the key figures in the struggle for Poland's independence. Next to it is the inscription “independence” and indications of the face value.
The reverse depicts a legionary eagle holding an Amazon shield in its talons against the background of the Polish flag, symbolizing sovereignty and national identity. In addition, it bears the inscription “Republic of Poland” and elements referring to independence symbolism.
