Poland Set I “Gallery of Polish Kings and Princes” 1986-1989 8v mint

The “Gallery of Kings and Princes” postage stamp set is a unique series depicting eight key figures from early Polish history. Each stamp shows a portrait of the ruler or his spouse, accompanied by the name “POLSKA” and the face value. The aesthetics of the stamps combine historical style with precise workmanship, making them not only philatelic treasures, but also miniature works of art.

The set includes:

  • Mieszko I (10 zł) – the first historical ruler of Poland,
  • Dobrawa (25 zł) – Czech princess, wife of Mieszko I,
  • Bolesław Chrobry (10 zł) – the first king of Poland,
  • Mieszko II (15 zł) – son of Chrobry,
  • Rycheza (10 zł) – wife of Mieszko II,
  • Kazimierz I Odnowiciel (15 zł) – rebuilt the state after the crisis,
  • Bolesław II the Generous (20 zł) – crowned king, known for his conflict with Bishop Stanisław,
  • Władysław Herman (30 zł) – father of Bolesław Krzywousty.
