Poland 1955 official reprints with overprint PROOF with guarantee – International Poznań Fair 3 stamps, mint, no. 774ND1–ND3
A set of three postage stamps from 1955 with a face value of 60 groszy, issued on the occasion of the 24th Poznań International Fair (July 3-24, 1955). The stamps depict the town hall in Poznań and the fair's emblem.
These are mint collector's stamps, issued in limited quantities and having philatelic value mainly as trial copies.
Reprints with the inscription “PRÓBA” (PROOF) are special copies of stamps:
- An official reprint is a print made later than the actual circulation issue, usually for collection, control, or archival purposes. These stamps are not intended for postal circulation.
- The overprint “PRÓBA” means that the stamp was produced as a trial print. This was used to test the colors, paper quality, inks, or the design itself.
Such items are currently valued in philately as rare varieties – they are collectible rather than functional.
