The next edition of the series depicts the liberation of Breda by General Maczek's division. The stamp depicts General Stanislaw Maczek, and the envelope shows a photo of soldiers in the area of liberated Breda.
At the end of October 1944, General Maczek's 1st Armored Division carried out a brilliant military operation that culminated in the liberation of Dutch Breda from German occupation. Thanks to the excellent planning and determination of the Polish soldiers, the city was captured without major civilian casualties - a fact that is still remembered and revered by the inhabitants to this day. Breda remains one of the symbols of Polish-Dutch friendship and gratitude.
The issues of “1st Armored Division - Odyssey of Freedom” highlight the heroic combat route of the unit, which fought from France through Belgium to the Netherlands.
