Poland 1987 - Pope John Paul II's 3rd visit to Poland - 3 sheets of various types , mint
A set of three philatelic sheets issued by the Polish Post in 1987 on the occasion of Pope John Paul II's third pilgrimage to Poland. The visit took place from June 8-14, 1987 and included Warsaw, Lublin, Cracow, Tarnow, Gdynia, Gdansk, Szczecin and Czestochowa.
Unique features of the issue:
✅ Stamps issued during the communist period, commemorating a historic event in communist Poland, when the authorities resented the Pope's pilgrimages.
✅ Three different types of sheets: no number, number on the right side of the sheet, number near the center of the sheet.
✅ Color symbolism - yellow and white are the colors of the Vatican, and blue refers to the Marian traditions of Poland.
📦 A great addition to a philatelic collection, especially for collectors of papal themes! 🕊✨
