Poland 1937 definitives issue – E. Śmigły-Rydz Block of 4, mint, no. 299
A set of four postage stamps from 1937 depicts Marshal Edward Śmigły-Rydz, one of the key figures in the history of the Second Polish Republic.
The stamps belong to the circulation issue and are marked with catalog number 299.
- 55 groszy (blue) – portrait of the marshal in uniform, but in more intense colors, emphasizing the rank and solemnity of the figure.
Both stamps bear the inscription “POCZTA POLSKA” (Polish Post) at the bottom and are valued by collectors for their historical value, related to the interwar period and the figure of Śmigły-Rydz – Commander-in-Chief in the September 1939 campaign.
